On October 11th, the Fourth IM Cross-Strait Youth Film Festival officially opened, announcing its lineup of jurors and guests.

This year’s festival is chaired by renowned filmmaker Sylvia Chang, who leads a distinguished panel of final judges, including Chen Lingzhen, Marco Müller, Zhou Xinxia, and Wang Yu. This team brings a wealth of expertise and experience to support the growth of emerging filmmakers.

Several outstanding Chinese film actors will participate in discussions and exchanges aimed at inspiring more young filmmakers to boldly pursue their dreams through the art of cinema. The festival honors Simon Yam as the “IM Annual Filmmaker,” while Wu Kang-jin is recognized as the “IM Youth Film Ambassador.” Zhang Yuqi and Zhang Rongrong have been designated as “IM Annual Youth Image Figures,” and Zhou Meijun serves as the “IM Volunteer Ambassador.” Simon Yam is well-known for his roles in films like “Dealer/Healer” and the series “The Defected,” leaving a lasting impression on audiences. Wu Kang-jin has garnered acclaim for his performances in “Youth in the City” and the series “The World Between Us.”

As the largest and most prestigious film exchange event for youth across the Taiwan Strait, the IM Cross-Strait Youth Film Festival aims to support young filmmakers from universities worldwide. This professional film festival includes short film competitions, forums, and screenings, focusing on the creative works of young talents. This year’s festival comprises five major segments: competition, screenings, cultivation, forums, and events. The main competition unit received a remarkable 2,264 submissions, with related activities and screenings taking place from October 11th to 13th in Pingtan, Fujian.
