On October 26, we celebrate World Sanitation Workers Day, and this year, Dalian organized its 18th annual event to honor those dedicated individuals. The event highlighted the contributions of ten outstanding sanitation workers and recognized ten compassionate companies for their support.
The primary aim of this gathering was to promote the selfless spirit of sanitation workers, raise awareness about the importance of sanitation jobs, and inspire workers to take pride in their roles, ultimately enhancing their contributions to maintaining a clean urban environment.
As the event commenced, sanitation workers from various districts marched in unison into the venue. Their heartfelt rendition of the “Sanitation Workers’ Song” beautifully conveyed the pride and dedication they feel in their efforts to keep the city clean.
During the event, the ten most inspiring sanitation workers were celebrated, with individuals like Guo Xiguang, Qian Zongxiang, and Sun Jingfeng receiving recognition. Additionally, ten businesses, including Dalian Medical University’s First Affiliated Hospital and Dalian Qingshui Charity Center, were honored as the “Top Ten Caring Enterprises.”
The festivities also included lighthearted competitions, such as “Rapid Cleaning with Electric Tricycles” and the “Unified Trash Collection Relay,” allowing the workers to showcase their energy and camaraderie.
Wang Duanping, the Director of the Dalian City Management Bureau, emphasized the vital role sanitation workers play in improving living environments and building a beautiful Dalian. He urged the community to continue showing support for sanitation initiatives, advocating for a culture of respect and appreciation for these essential workers and their contributions to society.
