On October 25th, at a middle school in the Nierong County of Nagqu, Tibet, students engaged in 3D modeling under the guidance of their teachers. We spoke to some of the students about their experiences.
One student shared, “I find 3D modeling fascinating. It’s incredible to see our ideas take shape in a virtual space.”
Another highlight of the day was a computer programming showcase, where students demonstrated their coding projects. A student proudly stated, “Creating my own software was challenging, but it felt amazing to see it work.”
Students also delved into Tibetan calligraphy, learning the art from their dedicated teachers. “Writing in Tibetan is not just about the letters; it’s about preserving our culture,” one student emphasized.
Additionally, the students explored their creativity with 3D pens, crafting unique designs. A participant remarked, “Using a 3D pen is like drawing in the air. It’s fun and makes me feel like an artist.”
The day featured a range of activities, including learning to play the zhanianqin, a traditional Tibetan string instrument, and participating in chorus sessions. A student enthusiastically commented, “Singing together brings us joy and helps us connect with our culture.”
Finally, they had a hands-on lesson in disassembling and reassembling old computers. A student shared, “It was eye-opening to learn how computers work from the inside out. I want to know more about technology.”
These activities reflect the school’s commitment to integrating traditional cultural education with modern technology, providing students with diverse learning opportunities.
