Kim Jong Un calls Yun Xiyue -abnormal- and threatens to retaliate with nuclear weapons_1

During a recent visit to the Kim Jong-un National Defense University on October 7, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un issued a stark warning regarding the possibility of military aggression from South Korea and the United States. He stated that if such an attack were to occur, North Korea would respond without hesitation by utilizing its nuclear arsenal. Kim emphasized that the idea of forcibly “unifying” South Korea holds no interest for his regime.

According to reports from the Korean Central News Agency, Kim made it clear during his inspection that North Korea would take all necessary measures, including deploying nuclear capabilities, in response to any military action from hostile forces.

He remarked, “If the strategic balance of power on the Korean Peninsula is disrupted, it signifies the onset of war. I will never allow the balance of power to be compromised.”

In stark contrast, South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol issued a warning during the Armed Forces Day parade on October 1, asserting that any use of nuclear weapons by North Korea would be met with the end of the Kim regime. He highlighted that the alliance between South Korea and the United States would respond decisively and overwhelmingly.

In response to Yoon’s statements, Kim referred to him as an “abnormal person” and reinforced North Korea’s commitment to advancing its nuclear capabilities. He stated, “As the U.S.-South Korea alliance becomes distorted, our nuclear response must be elevated to an unprecedented level.”

In a significant display of its military capabilities, North Korea unveiled a secret uranium enrichment facility for the first time in September, further asserting its position of not relinquishing its nuclear arsenal. Kim described North and South Korea as “two mutually hostile nations,” indicating that while discussions about “liberating the South” were once entertained, there is currently no interest in those ideas. He clarified that the relationship between the two countries is now firmly established as that of two independent states.

Additionally, Kim affirmed that North Korea does not plan to attack South Korea, pointing out that even the thought of engaging with the South is uncomfortable for him. He stressed that North Korea is not seeking a direct confrontation with its southern neighbor.
