By outdoor-nature-child.com On October 14, the “Sanjin People’s Congress Representatives Media Tour” was officially launched in Jinzhong, organized by the Standing Committee of the Shanxi Provincial People’s Congress. This initiative focuses on representatives at the grassroots level, facilitating a reporters’ team that will interview outstanding representatives and highlight their stories to energize their work.
At the launch ceremony, Li Jiyun, Deputy Director of the Research Office of the Shanxi Provincial People’s Congress Standing Committee, emphasized that the primary aim of this media tour is to promote the significant advantages and impact of the people’s congress system. By showcasing the vivid practices of whole-process people’s democracy in Shanxi and specifically Jinzhong, the initiative seeks to thoroughly report on the new achievements in people’s congress work and reflect the fresh dynamics of representatives fulfilling their duties. The goal is to deepen public understanding and appreciation of the people’s congress system, fostering a supportive atmosphere for representatives and their work throughout society.
Since the beginning of the fifth Jinzhong Municipal People’s Congress Standing Committee, there has been a strong commitment to practicing whole-process people’s democracy. Efforts have been made to enhance the capabilities of representatives, improve service and contact mechanisms, and innovate ways for representatives to engage their communities. Notably, Jinzhong’s Standing Committee has established comprehensive connections with grassroots representatives, building a “three-tier” system with 136 liaison stations, 438 liaison points, and 264 service posts. Furthermore, the “1+11” service platform connects all liaison stations, ensuring data interoperability across the board.
“This media tour holds significant and far-reaching importance in telling the stories of how representatives fulfill their duties, inspiring their enthusiasm, publicizing the achievements of the people’s congress work, and enriching the practice of whole-process people’s democracy,” remarked Duan Yanxiang, Deputy Director of the Jinzhong Standing Committee. He encouraged reporters to utilize their keen insights and unique perspectives to explore and deeply convey the performance of representatives, aiming to increase public awareness and support for the work of the people’s congress, as well as to spark interest in Jinzhong.
The “Sanqin People’s Congress Representatives Media Tour” is a key brand initiative of the Shanxi Provincial People’s Congress Standing Committee’s public relations efforts. Since its inception on June 19, 2018, the program has conducted interviews with 259 grassroots representatives over six consecutive years.
