American singers Cher and Mary J. Blige are inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2024

On October 19, American singer Cher was officially inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame during a ceremony held in Cleveland. Alongside her, soul icon Mary J. Blige and British heavy metal pioneer Ozzy Osbourne also received their honors.

According to reports from Central News Agency citing AFP, the ceremony took place in the renowned Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio.

In addition to these three music legends, other inductees for 2024 included the veteran band Kool and the Gang, the Dave Matthews Band, Foreigner, hip-hop legends A Tribe Called Quest, and rock veteran Peter Frampton.

The ceremony also recognized the contributions of blues artists Big Mama Thornton, British blues musician Alexis Korner, and the late blues legend John Mayall, who were awarded the Music Influence Award.

Moreover, country-rock singer Jimmy Buffett, the band MC5, R&B singer Dionne Warwick, and songwriter and producer Norman Whitfield received the Music Excellence Award.

Suzanne de Passe, a trailblazer for women in the music industry and a prominent figure in the Motown empire, was honored with a non-performer Lifetime Achievement Award during the event.
