Conflict between Lebanon and Israel intensifies, Israeli military says it has attacked multiple targets of Hezbollah in Lebanon

On the night of September 25 and into the early hours of September 26, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced that they conducted airstrikes targeting a weapons manufacturing facility, an intelligence headquarters, and observation posts belonging to Hezbollah in the southern suburbs of Beirut, Lebanon. On the same day, the IDF released footage of ground troop operations, claiming they had located and destroyed “underground strategic facilities” operated by Hezbollah in southern Lebanon.

In response, Hezbollah issued a statement on September 26, asserting that their armed personnel had launched an attack using drone strikes against an Israeli Air Force base located south of Tel Aviv, successfully hitting their target. Additionally, Hezbollah claimed to have fired rockets at an intelligence base in northern Israel. The IDF reported that by 3 PM local time on September 26, approximately 80 projectiles had been fired from Lebanon into Israel that day.

According to Lebanon’s health authorities, as of September 25, this latest round of conflict between Lebanon and Israel has resulted in the deaths of 2,653 individuals since October of last year.
