Flying to Asia becomes cheaper with ZIPAIR’s new Houston-Tokyo route with the lowest fare at US$136

Could you tell us about ZIPAIR’s new route launching in March?

Certainly! ZIPAIR, a low-cost airline from Japan, is excited to announce the launch of its Tokyo to Houston route, set to start on March 4th. This will be the airline’s fifth transpacific route following services to Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Jose, and Vancouver.

What prompted ZIPAIR to add this new route to Houston?

The decision was driven by the growing business opportunities in Texas, which is home to over 50 Fortune 500 company headquarters. The state’s economic influence is becoming increasingly significant, particularly since it ranks second in the U.S. in terms of both population and economic size. Companies are also attracted by Texas’s tax incentives, contributing to its rapid population growth. Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport is strategically located at the center of the Americas, making it convenient for both business travelers heading into downtown Houston and those connecting to Central and South America.

What can travelers expect in terms of flight frequency and schedule?

ZIPAIR will operate four flights per week on this route. The outbound flight, ZG16, departs from Narita Airport every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday at 10:00 AM Japan time, arriving in Houston at 6:45 AM local time. The return flight, ZG15, will leave Houston at 8:45 AM and arrive back at Narita at 1:50 PM the following day. Starting March 9, the return flights will alternate between departure times of 7:45 AM and 9:45 AM. Tickets went on sale on October 10.

What are the pricing options like for this route?

Travelers can choose from three fare types: ZIP Full-Flat, Standard, and U6 Standard. For flights originating in Japan, the ZIP Full-Flat fare starts at 188,500 Japanese Yen (approximately $1,260), the Standard starts at 55,250 Yen (about $369), and the U6 Standard is fixed at 15,000 Yen (around $100). For the return flights from Houston to Tokyo, ZIP Full-Flat starts at $1,450, Standard at $425, and U6 Standard is set at $136.

Are there any special offers for the inaugural route?

Yes, to celebrate the new route, ZIPAIR is offering promotional fare rates. From October 10 to November 30, travelers can purchase round-trip tickets for March travel at a discounted one-way price of $333, which includes taxes and airport fees.
